King William, March 23, 1768.
Taken up, a dark sorrel horse,
That for his age seems something the worse.
He hath no brand for to be seen,
If branded he hath ever been.
The end is cut off of his left ear,
And is about 4 feet 6 inches clear.
He hath been appraised to five pounds,
The owner may have him for five half crowns.
[signed] Ambrose Lipscomb, Jun.
